The ACCESS Program partners with Indigenous and remote communities to support the development and delivery of healthcare services that reflect local needs, priorities, and realities. Our approach is grounded in respect, collaboration, and cultural humility—recognizing that effective healthcare is built with communities, not imposed upon them.

ACCESS exists to support communities facing barriers to timely, appropriate care by offering flexible, responsive healthcare services that align with existing structures and community-identified goals.

Our Approach

ACCESS begins with listening. We work alongside community leadership, health representatives, and existing care providers to understand local priorities, strengths, and challenges before proposing solutions.

Our role is to adapt thoughtfully—ensuring services are practical, culturally informed, and responsive to each community’s unique context. We recognize that no two communities are the same, and program design must reflect that reality.

Partnership and Sustainability

ACCESS is built on long-term partnership, not short-term deployment. We work collaboratively to support healthcare solutions that communities can trust, adapt, and sustain over time.

By aligning services with community priorities and supporting local leadership, ACCESS helps improve access to care while respecting autonomy, culture, and lived experience

What ACCESS Supports

The ACCESS Program provides a range of adaptable supports for remote and underserved settings, including:

  • On-site clinical services delivered in collaboration with existing care teams

  • Program and system design support tailored to local realities

  • Capacity-building initiatives that strengthen local clinical capability

  • Support for continuity of care across settings and service transitions

Rather than replacing existing services, ACCESS is designed to strengthen and support what is already in place, helping communities improve access to care in ways that are sustainable and community-aligned.

Connecting With ACCESS

We invite communities, health authorities, and partners to connect with us for an initial conversation. These discussions focus on understanding local priorities, identifying gaps, and exploring how ACCESS can support existing healthcare goals.

Our engagement process is collaborative, flexible, and guided by what communities are seeking—ensuring services are shaped by community voice and delivered with care, respect, and accountability.
